Goose's mad 24 hour row for My Name'5 Doddie Foundation

Stephen Gourlay is raising money for My Name'5 Doddie Foundation

Doddie Aid 2026 · 1 January 2026 to 5 February 2026 ·

Doddie Aid is a personal exercise challenge that takes place from 1 January and runs for 5 weeks, all whilst raising funds for My Name’5 Doddie Foundation to help find a cure for motor neuron disease (MND).

Story

As Doddie Aid is live I will be getting in some volume on the concept2 rower to prep for my challenge.

History:

Doodie AId 2023: 50km felt ok ish but said “never again”

Doddie Aid 2024: thought what the hell and did the 100km!! (Absolutely agony!)

Doddie Aid 2025: year off after hand surgery

Doddie Aid 2026: Well what can I say, there is only one left!!! 24 hours and burst!!!

On Feb 6th I will row for a continuous 24 hours as a personal challenge (short toilet breaks and fuelling/stretching allowed)

Research to find better treatment and a cure for MND is underfunded and this is why the MND and sporting communities are coming together and getting behind this type of event. My pain will be grim, but temporary, what those diagnosed with MND and all their families and friends go through is not. This is why I will succeed!!
