Story
We ride again - I’m delighted to be taking part for the third year running in support of MND with the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
Doddie’s Triple Crown is the 2026 edition of Rob Wainwright’s epic annual cycling challenge, raising vital funds and awareness for those living with Motor Neurone Disease.
The challenge will take place from Tuesday 10th to Friday 13th March, with teams covering 800 miles in just four days, arriving into Dublin on the eve of Scotland’s Six Nations clash with Ireland at the Aviva Stadium. I'll be honest I miscalculated the miles to km conversion last year, so 800m = 1287.48km its a decent pull..
The route is as demanding as it is meaningful:
Day 1: Melrose to Leeds
Day 2: Leeds to Gloucester
Day 3: Gloucester to Pembroke (overnight ferry to Ireland)
Day 4: Rosslare to Dublin
Every mile ridden is in support of people and families affected by MND. As ever, rugby people ride together — and we’d be hugely grateful for your support.
Lewis Moody’s recent diagnosis has brought renewed focus to Motor Neurone Disease. While Lewis is known to many through rugby, MND will touch countless lives far beyond the professional game.
Rugby has always shown its strength when it comes together in times of need, and Doddie’s ride embodies that spirit — uniting people across clubs, countries and communities to support everyone affected by MND. So if you can't ride please support in any way you can.
Thank you
Gordon
