Set up 16 years ago by Costa, the Costa Foundation provides funds to build and run schools to educated children in coffee growing areas and help break the cycle of subsistence farming and poverty. Over the years, together with our partners, the Costa Foundation have built 104 schools and educated 120,000 children across 11 countries in Africa, South America and Vietnam with a real focus on supporting young girls.

When you go to visit a coffee growing area, it is shocking the level of poverty and non-existent infrastructure. Children really have no opportunity. Giving them an education gives them a chance to break out. We now also work with the Coke Foundation, who support the provision of water, which is imperative.

The Costa bike ride is on Friday 29 September – Sunday 1 October. Around 20 of us will cycle coast to coast in the UK from Weston Super Mare to the Isle of Sheppey, a 340km journey involving over 3km of climbing to raise funds for the Costa Foundation and to change a Child's Life.
