The purpose of the Bahamas Locomotive Society is to collect, preserve, maintain, and operate railway locomotives, rolling stock, and associated artefacts; and to provide facilities for their access, interpretation and educational use, by exhibition to the public at its Engine Shed at Ingrow museum.

Story

After over eight years battling with multiple myeloma, sadly Gordon went to sleep in the early hours of Wednesday 18th October 2023.

We’ve been asked a few times about donations, and we figured what better way to honour his memory than to do what he did best, spend it all on trains!

Having worked in the bookings office at Glossop Central and later Broadbottom Station, Dinting Railway Centre and the Bahamas Locomotive Society is something that was very close to Gordon’s heart.

Based at the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, the work they do continues the legacy of Dinting Railway Centre, recently restoring the stunning Bahamas Locomotive herself to full mainline steam glory, something that Gordon was fortunately able to witness.

All donations through this page will be made in Gordon’s memory to help support their wonderful work.
