Team Nemo’s Epic 24 Hour Swim

24hr Swim Relay: Lake32 · 14 September 2024 to 15 September 2024 ·
Most of you who know us well, know that we love the water and can be found having a splash around almost anywhere we go, from the frigid Irish Sea, to the baltic conditions of the Norwegian fjords, to the positively balmy waters around Cornwall.
However, in exactly six weeks Corri, Tricia and Molly will be open water swimming for 24 hours - yes, even through the night!
Whilst we all love the water, none of us are endurance swimmers and so we’ve been training for the last few months getting the lengths in down at the lido in Cheltenham.
We are part of a small team of 6 that will swim in relay for 24 hours, swimming for an hour at a time before having a couple of hours rest.
Why are we doing this? Well, we are helping to raise money for children with disabilities, just like Leah so that they can learn to swim, be safe and enjoy the water.
We’ve always had Leah in the water with us and taught her how to swim from an early age but most young people with disabilities don’t get that opportunity as it is not something that is offered at many special needs schools and many swim schools or pools cannot accommodate individuals with special needs.
We’d be really grateful if you could donate and support us (in our madness) and young people like Leah to learn how to swim.
All the money we raise will go to the brilliant charity Level Water which uses the power of swimming to improve lives for children with disabilities. Go and check them out to see their inspirational work.
If you are local to Cheltenham and would like to come and support us in person then the event is taking place at Lake 32 down at South Cerney on the 14th & 15th September.
