Story
This year, we’re taking on not one but two epic challenges to raise vital funds for Mercy UK — a charity that helps people live free and stay free.
In July, Rob is cycling the Sandstone Way — a demanding 219km off-road route from Berwick-upon-Tweed to Hexham, including a detour to Holy Island. Then in October, we’ll both walk 100km each along the Camino de Santiago in Spain. That’s 419km total, and we’re aiming to raise £4,190 — £10 for every kilometre.
The Camino will be a journey of reflection, perseverance and faith — a road where we hope to find renewal and deeper connection with God, ourselves, and others. Each step will remind us of the struggle, pain and strength required to walk a path toward healing.
In the same way, those on their own Freedom Journey with Mercy UK are navigating roads filled with challenge — but also hope, restoration and freedom.
We know life can sometimes feel like an uphill climb. But no one should have to walk that road alone. Mercy UK comes alongside those battling mental health challenges, trauma, grief, and deep inner pain — equipping them with tools, support, and spiritual guidance to find lasting transformation.
We’re asking for sponsors:
• 2 x £500 – two already received!
• 3 x £250 - one already pledged!
• 4 x £150 - one already pledged!
• 6 x £100 - one already received!
• 8 x £50 - three received!
• 10 x £30 - five received!
• 15 x £20
…or whatever you feel able to give. Every single donation brings someone one step closer to freedom.
Your sponsorship says: You don’t have to walk this alone.
Thank you so much for standing with us.
With grateful hearts (and tired legs),
Rob & Debbie
