The Gowers do the London Marathon

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
Me (Charlotte), my dad (Ian) and my sister (Poppy) are running the London Marathon 2025 together in aid of Farleigh Hospice. Farleigh Hospice holds a very special place in our hearts looking after my grandad Bill Gowers in his final few weeks and they have also looked after other close family and friends.
When we needed it most Farleigh Hospices nurses were not only there for my grandad but gave us the support we needed at such an awful time, to give back just the little bit we can, we want to raise £5000 between the three of us to help fund the services they so importantly provide, which relies on charity funding.
Farleigh Hospice is a registered charity (no. 284670) which provides hospice care to people affected by life-limiting illnesses across mid Essex.
They help patients to live as actively as possible from the point of diagnosis to the end of their life, by providing physical and emotional care, free of charge.
With approximately 40% of their yearly running costs being funded by the local NHS, they rely on the support and goodwill of the local mid Essex community to contribute to the £21,271 it costs to provide their services each day.
