Hi, I'm Grace, thanks for visiting my JustGiving page!

This spring I'm running the Hackney Half Marathon on behalf of the National Literacy Trust. I'm super grateful for this opportunity because it combines two things I'm really passionate about: running and reading. The National Literacy Trust does so much incredible work to support literacy throughout the UK, which can create so many opportunities for people across the nation.

A bit about myself: I'm sixteen years old; I study english, history, politics, and economics; and I've been running for five years. Recently, I've been doing research on social media and attention in the modern world. Even though it's easy to get bogged down, everything I've read has lead me to believe in two surefire solutions: that we should read more, and ground ourselves in the real world. Reading not only provides educational opportunities, but it teaches us empathy and humanity, something we need more than ever today. Meanwhile, running is my way of connecting with my surroundings. They might be small things, but together running and reading make my life (and the life of so many others, I'm sure!) so much better.
