I have chosen to commit to a year with the JVCs because of their commitment to the holistic social justice process. The cura personalis mentality of caring for the whole person is an integral aspect of the JV mission. I am so excited to be able to work in Los Angeles with Homeboy Industries. I have always felt strongly about promoting equitable educational opportunities, especially for those historically marginalized. Homeboy Industries also demonstrates the importance of multiple forms of education across academics, life skills, and miscellaneous workshops.
