On Sunday, 14th September, I will be running my first ever half marathon in memory of my dear friend Jonathan Bryan, and in support of the incredible work he began.

Jonathan was one of the most extraordinary people I have ever had the privilege of knowing, and it was an honour to be able to call him my friend. A fellow Christian, a writer, and a fierce advocate for accessible communication and education, he founded Teach Us Too to promote literacy education for all children - regardless of needs, disabilities or diagnoses.

Access to literacy is vital, and the work that Teach Us Too does is truly transformative for many children across the country. Words help us understand the world, connect with one another, and make sense of ourselves. When I faced autistic burnout at the age of 16, words became my source of hope as I began to recover. Teach Us Too recognises that everybody deserves that lifeline, and firmly believes that it is every child's right to learn how to read and write.

So, in honour of Jonathan, and with huge gratitude for everything that this amazing charity does, I'll be running Chippenham Half Marathon to support Teach Us Too.
