Story

Photo of Pops and my Dad from around 1973

I am running the Plymouth Half Marathon in May 2025, raising money for Bowel Cancer UK in memory of my Grandad Pops. Pops died of Bowel Cancer in 2009 when I was just four. I have fond memories of him from the times I can remember. I’d like to think he would be proud of me studying Geology at University following in his footsteps as he was an amazing Chemist who worked for Imerys the ‘China clay’ company in St Austell, Cornwall amongst other things.

The Bowel Cancer UK charity funds targeted research, provides expert information and support to patients and their families, educates the public and professionals about the disease and campaigns for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care.

If you are able to donate to this amazing charity please do. If you are unable to please take some time to read/look at the charities website to understand more about the signs of Bowel Cancer.
