Story
This year, my dad and I are taking on the Aberdovey Bike Ride together, and we’re proud to be supporting the National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS).
At the age of 11, I experienced a life-changing event that affected my hearing further. It was a challenging and uncertain time for our family, bringing new circumstances, appointments, and important decisions that required adjustment and resilience. Throughout that period, the Audiology services accessed - along with the wider support networks working alongside them, including NDCS - played a vital role. Their guidance and reassurance helped our family adapt, better understand the situation, and move forward with greater confidence. The further diagnosis that followed brought additional challenges, but having strong professional and charitable support made a significant difference.
Many families experience similar life-changing moments, often feeling overwhelmed while trying to navigate unfamiliar systems and emotions. NDCS works to ensure that deaf children and their families are supported, informed, and empowered during those times.
Taking on this challenge together makes it even more meaningful, and riding side by side is our way of giving something back and supporting other families who may be facing similar journeys.
Every mile we ride is about raising awareness and helping ensure that no family has to navigate these challenges alone.
Thank you so much for your support 💙
