On the 26th September, I, along with a large group of work colleagues, will be abseiling down the Norwich Forum to raise money for Star Throwers, an amazing cancer charity in Wymondham that supports those diagnosed with cancer, providing wellbeing services, community and most importantly time and information to become well-informed and have your questions answered.

There’ll be near 80 of us in total conquering the Forum that day, so please come down to Millennium Plain and show your support.

Last year, I was diagnosed with stage 4 (incurable) breast cancer. It’s been a huge shock to me and everyone in my life. I’ve had to adjust to so many new things - appointments, side effects of ongoing treatment and most importantly the uncertainty that an incurable diagnosis brings. Starthrowers have been incredible in the support they have provided me over the last 9 months. This Abseil is my way of giving back to them whilst also celebrating that this is something I can do! It will be 366 days since my diagnosis when I complete this challenge and it feels a fitting way to commemorate that!

'Why Challenge 150?' - the answer is simple; over 150 new breast cancer cases are diagnosed in the UK every day (Source: Cancer Research UK).
