I'm running the Cardiff Half Marathon for Dementia UK because my Little Nanny was affected by dementia before she passed away, and my lovely Grandma is living with it now. I have seen the effects Dementia has upon not just the person, but their families too and I want to challenge myself by running a Half Marathon for them. It will be a short term challenge for me that I hope will raise some money to support those who face the long term challenge of Dementia.

Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses, provide life-changing care to families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer's disease. They help people with dementia stay independent for longer, and support the people caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days. They have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems, helping families take back control when they are struggling.
