Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
It’s that time of the year again where I ask you kind people to sponsor me. Bit of a double whammy on this one though..
First tick in the box is GNR in September.
Second tick is the Manchester marathon 2026.
I’m doubling up for this amazing charity!
Unfortunately my lovely mum was diagnosed with multiple Myeloma last year. Myeloma is a blood cancer and is diagnosed in approximately 6,200 people a year. There are around 33,000 people living with Myeloma in the UK. Myeloma accounts for 15% of all blood cancers and 2% of all cancers. It mainly affects people over the age of 65, however it has been diagnosed in much younger people too.
Whilst there is currently no cure for multiple Myeloma, there are effective treatments which reduce the presence of the indicators found in blood tests. The treatment for Myeloma is a life long process, with regular blood testing to keep an eye on the red, white and platelet counts.
With the sponsorship from all of you good people for my double challenge, hopefully we can help further the research to speed up diagnosis and hopefully in future find a cure.
As always, thankyou for taking the time to visit this page. Hopefully you will be inspired enough to sponsor me a few pounds too!
Many thanks,
Graeme
