Spartan 50km Ultramarathon · 5 October 2024

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

5 years ago I lost my dad to Pancreatic Cancer. In just 7 weeks he went from happy on holiday to passing away, leaving us all heartbroken.

Pancreatic cancer is tough to diagnose and tough to treat, with 3 in 5 people only being diagnosed at stage 3 & 4 (like my dad) and more than half of people diagnosed dying within 3 months (again, like my dad).

On the 5th of October I will be taking part in the South East Spartan Ultramarathon - a 50km cross country run, interspersed with 60 obstacles which range from rope climbs, atlas stone carries and climbing walls.

I know budgets are tight this year, but any money donated will help to improve research into Pancreatic Cancer, which only receives 3% of the annual Uk Cancer Research budget.
