6000 species in 2026

Graeme Lyons is raising money for Sussex Wildlife Trust

To see 6000 species in the British Isles in 2026

The aim of the Sussex Wildlife Trust is to conserve Sussex landscape, wildlife and its habitats and to use its knowledge and expertise to help the people of Sussex to enjoy, understand and take action.

Story

This challenge to see 6000 species in the British Isles in 2026 will inevitably mean I spend a lot of time on Sussex Wildlife Trust's nature reserves (reserved that I used to help manage and still do as a freelance entomologist). Part of this challenge is to show that despite being one of the most nature depleted countries in Europe, we still have lot of incredible wildlife here.

But that wildlife needs looking after and managing nature reserves costs money. So I have pledged that all monies raised will go directly to the management of the Trust's nature reserves.
