The Murray Golf Society — La Cala, Spain 2026 ⛳
What a fantastic trip to La Cala, Spain, for the Murray Golf Society!
A total of 28 golfers travelled out and competed for the McKinnon Cup — a trophy that was renamed last year following the very sad passing of our great friend and fellow golfer, Stevie McKinnon.
We are delighted to announce that this year’s winner of the McKinnon Cup was Alan McAulay. 🏆👏 Congratulations, Alan — a fantastic achievement!
The trip was about much more than golf, though. Throughout the week, the group held various fundraising activities and, thanks to Gordon McCulloch, we were also able to raffle some fantastic golf prizes, including rounds at Loch Lomond and Glasgow Gailes. A huge thank you to everyone who donated prizes and supported the fundraising.
We are incredibly proud to announce that, through everyone’s generosity and efforts, we have managed to raise,
£1,300 for Kilbryde Hospice. 💚💙
Kilbryde Hospice has been our charity of choice for many years, but this year’s fundraising felt particularly special as we continue to honour the memory of Stevie. We know he would have been right there with us, enjoying the golf, the laughs and, no doubt, a few drinks along the way. 🍻⛳
A special mention also goes to Claymore Engraving, based in the village, for doing a fantastic job renaming our Claret Jug and extending the base to accommodate the new inscription. We really appreciate your help in making the trophy a lasting tribute to Stevie.
A brilliant week of golf, friendship, laughs and memories — and most importantly, a fantastic amount raised for a very worthy cause.
For Stevie. 💙💚
