Go1984
Campaign by Berkshire MS Therapy Centre (RCN 800419)
To mark 40 years since Berkshire MS Therapy Centre was founded, our members are taking on the challenge of covering 1,984 miles in 3 weeks. With no NHS funding, we rely on generous donations to deliver over 13,000 treatments each year.

Story

I am taking part in the Go1984 challenge for Berkshire MS Therapy Centre. In celebration of their 40th anniversary, I will be joining a team of fundraisers and taking on the challenge of completing 1,984 miles over 3 weeks.

I have Primary Progressive MS and the centre is excellent for providing physio and a social space to meet others

Exercise is very important for well being and to keep active, although I cannot walk I will attempt to cycle 10K on a special bike still sitting in my electric wheelchair!

I will do the challenge on Friday 21st June, will probably need a week to recover!!

This is a huge challenge, and as part of it I am hoping to raise money to help the Centre reach their target of £7,000. They receive no NHS funding and rely on donations to ensure they can continue to provide specialist exercise their members rely on.

The Berkshire MS Therapy Centre supports local people to manage their Multiple Sclerosis with treatments not available elsewhere and gives individuals the chance to meet and support each other. All money raised during Go1984 will help provide 10,0000 physiotherapy and exercise sessions for people with MS in 2024.

Any donation you can give, will be gratefully received.

Thank you for sponsoring me!
