Story
Another Charity Challenge - this time to Cape Wrath, the very remote North West corner of Scotland.
We are hoping that three generations of the Myers family - Graham, Vicky and Daniel, will all succeed in reaching the Cape Wrath lighthouse either cycling or running, in May 2023.
I will be cycling, starting on Monday 15th May, taking my bike on two trains to Glasgow. Then setting off next morning, I hope to cycle over 250 miles to reach Cape Wrath in about 11 days.
My daughter Vicky, grandson Daniel (age 9) and other family members are coming up to Scotland on 26th May, for a week over the school half-term to join in the final Cape Wrath challenge. The plan is that Daniel will cycle on his mountain bike with me, and Vicky will run the 11 mile difficult route from the Keoldale/Durness ferry.
Due to the current popularity of visiting Scotland, accommodation is quite heavily booked, so I have made bookings for every night. This means that I will have to reach each day's planned destination, regardless of hills, wind or rain.
We are again seeking sponsorship for the Ellen Macarthur Cancer Trust, a superb charity that supports young people aged 8 - 24 to rebuild their lives after cancer, through sailing and adventure. Please have a look at their website - www.ellenmacarthurcancertrust.org
All donations received will go to the Charity, we are funding all our costs in carrying out the challenge.
Thank you from Vicky, Daniel and Graham.
