Story

On 5 September 2026, I will be taking on the South Downs Challenge 2026, a trek that is both a personal challenge and a chance to make a meaningful difference.

I am raising funds for Petts Wood Playgroup for Children With Special Needs, a charity that has supported both our family and so many others for generations. Founded in 1968, this remarkable organisation provides vital care and early support for children with additional and complex needs, from birth to 5 years old, in the London Borough of Bromley. It is the only provision of its kind in the area, and for more than five decades it has helped hundreds of families give their children the very best start in life.

The playgroup is guided by a dedicated committee and leadership team, strengthened by wonderful local volunteers who give their time, energy, and compassion to help children thrive. Its commitment has been recognised with "Outstanding" Ofsted ratings in every inspection, and with an MBE for voluntary service from Queen Elizabeth II.

Because the charity does not charge fees, it relies on donations, fundraising, government early years funding, and community support to continue its essential work. That is why I am asking for your help. Please consider making a donation, whatever you can afford, to help me reach my target of £1,000 and support this incredible charity in continuing to change lives.

Your generosity will help sustain a place where children are nurtured, families are supported, and every small step leads to a brighter future. Thank you for being part of this journey and for standing with a cause that truly matters.
