Story
Game On’s first charity event took place over 15 years ago, when two of our head coaches, Jason and Paul, travelled to Africa to support an incredible charity. Using their coaching knowledge, they delivered football sessions to local teenagers, seeing first-hand the positive impact football can have beyond the pitch.
As Game On celebrates its 25th birthday on 1st January 2026, we wanted to mark this milestone by once again raising money for this fantastic cause and the vital work they do.
TackleAfrica is a charity that uses the power and popularity of football to deliver HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) education and services to young people on football pitches across the African continent.
Our fundraising begins with a repeat of an event from 25 years ago, as we run a Sports Camp at Bishop Wood School in Tring on 2nd January. This will be followed by a further 13 ‘Days of Sport’ during February half term, giving children from Aylesbury, Chesham, Berkhamsted, Hemel, Watford and St Albans the opportunity to take part.
The schools involved have very kindly donated the use of their facilities free of charge, and there is no cost for children to attend any of the courses. All we ask is that, if possible, families make a donation to TackleAfrica in lieu of a course fee.
Thank you in advance for your support in helping us celebrate 25 years of Game On while making a real difference through sport.
