Graham's fundraiser for Struthers Church Glasgow Building Fund

Treking Scotland's West Highland Way & Ben Nevis climb · 11 May 2025
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
By walking Scotland's famous West Highland Way, starting Sunday from Milngavie to Fort William by Friday tea time (98 miles) and hopefully, if not too tired out, climb Ben Nevis the highest mountain in the British Isles on the Saturday, I'm raising money to benefit our Church's Building Fund.
Any donation will help make an impact as we look to repair significant elements of the front stonework, roof and internal ceiling pasterwork.
Watch out to reduce the auto tip on the donation to zero and ask them to add gift aid if applicable.
Struthers Chunch in Hyndland is a Classical Renaissance church with superimposed pedimented portico frontage, using blonde polished ashlar and banded sandstone masonery.
It was designed by John Honeyman, Architech and constructed in 1881.
The church and halls have Catagory A Listed Building status.
It is a beautiful church and has quite unique stained glass windows and ornate plasterwork ceiling.
I believe our church is well placed in Hyndland and reaches into the community in so many ways.
All funds collected will be chanelled into our designated Building Fund and will be used to finance the various elements of this significant project. These to include, design and engineering specialists to ensure the correct work is done to the highest standards and then engage the services of skilled trades to complete the specified work.
Initially our plan is to arrest any further damage and then restore those elements of the building fabric within practical reach to their former glory.
Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
