Graham's fundraiser for Motor Neurone Disease Association

Graham Pentelow is raising money for Motor Neurone Disease Association

Non stop trek of the length of the River Lea · 27 June 2026

Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page supporting the MND Association.

Sponsor Richard Green and myself and your money will directly change the lives of people affected by motor neurone disease in East London.

JustGiving will send your donation directly to the MND Association who will specifically pass it on to our group here in East London.

I am a co lead of the East London Group of the MND Association, where I volunteer each month at our in person support group, assist with fundraising and serve as an advocate and friend to those living with and affected by MND.

I’ll be accompanied by my fellow volunteer and I’m glad to say now good friend Richard Green.

We will be walking the length of the River Lea from its source in Leagrave to where it flows into the River Thames at Limehouse.

This is an overnight trek of a distance of just over 50 miles (80km).

The route has been researched by Richard, who’s a veteran of long distance walks.

We’ve walked sections to route find/plan and will be posting our longer training runs on here to keep you updated. We hope to start around midday on 27 June, finishing somewhere around 08:30 Sunday 28 at Limehouse. So somewhere around 20 to 21 hours on our feet!
