Climbing Snowdon at Night: Lighting the Way for Young People with Cancer
On 11th September, I’ll be swapping my bed for hiking boots to take on a challenge that is as daunting as it is exciting: climbing Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) at night.
Starting in the dark, I’ll be trekking to the 1,085-meter summit by torchlight, navigating rugged terrain and steep inclines to reach the peak in time for sunrise. It’s going to be physically demanding, mentally tough, and likely very cold—but every step I take is for a vital cause.
Why the Teenage Cancer Trust?
Every day, seven young people aged 13-24 are diagnosed with cancer. They face a world of uncertainty, fear, and gruelling treatment. The Teenage Cancer Trust is a UK charity dedicated to providing the specialized nursing care and emotional support these young people need. They make sure no young person faces cancer alone, creating spaces where they can feel like teenagers first and patients second.
How your donation helps:
- £5 could help pay for a patient’s favourite meal when they’re struggling to eat during chemo.
- £30 could pay for an hour of care from a specialist nurse.
- £100 could help fund a support session to help a young person deal with the psychological impact of their diagnosis.
I am pushing myself to the limit to ensure these incredible young people get the support they deserve. Please donate whatever you can—no amount is too small, and every penny helps me get up that mountain.
Thank you so much for your support!
