Story
Hi everyone! As most of you will will know I have an eye condition called retinitis pigmentosa and I am registered blind. The condition gets worse as you get older, and I want to run a marathon while I still can without needing a guide runner along side me. (debatable already at this point let’s be honest)
I am running the marathon for Look UK. They are an amazing small national charity, supporting young blind and visually impaired children and their families throughout the UK.
They are daft enough to have me as a mentor, as well as being a guest speaker on a couple of occasions to their employees and to their parent/carer group sessions. The charity is very important to me and any support and donations are extremely appreciated.
Looks mission is to empower visually impaired children and young people to thrive in a world where they are valued, included and equipped for success; and to connect their families with knowledge and support.
Only one in four visually impaired people in the UK are in work and this needs to change.
