Story
The Hospice has played a huge part in supporting our family over the years.
Most recently, our Wife/Mom/Grandma/GG/Mom-in-law, Dora was cared for by the hospice, where they offered her and our entire family, incredible support. We will all be eternally grateful.
This isn’t the first time that the Hospice have helped our family.
Dan’s Nana, Valerie Turbutt was cared for in her final days at the Hospice, offering incredible support to her and the whole family.
Valerie’s husband, Cyril Turbutt then went on to dedicate a large portion of his life to supporting the Hospice, volunteering at every event possible and getting involved in every way imaginable - including doing the PAT testing on donated electrical items! Sadly, Cyril passed away this year, but enjoyed the purpose that the Hospice gave him over more than a decade.
The hospice also went on to provide support to family friends Roger Doodson and Karen Berloth.
The care and compassion that the Hospice offers makes the most challenging times so much easier on those staying in the hospice, as well as their families and we want to keep raising funds, so their work can support as many people as possible.
The Hospice helps people to live their precious lives well. Our care has many forms – at home, in our outpatient Spring Centre or through specialised care in one of our Hospice beds - and is defined by each person's need. We rely on donations to raise the £6m we need each year to fund our free care. Your support is ever more important, as NHS funding covers less than 20% of our running costs.
