Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
In 2020, my very close friend, Billy White lost his life at the age of 17 to a rare form of bone cancer, Osteosarcoma. He was diagnosed when he was 15 having had cancer twice before as an infant. Despite his difficult circumstances, Billy stayed remarkably strong and positive throughout his treatment and never complained.
The same year of his passing, my sister, Tuppence and I raised almost £2000 for the Bone Cancer Research Trust by walking the Worcestershire Way in a day – a total of 31 miles.
Four years on from Billy’s passing, I still haven’t met anyone as strong, brave and resilient but no one should have to go through what he suffered, and I want to do what I can to help other teenagers suffering with cancer right now. So, this year I am hoping to raise a minimum of £500 for the Teenage Cancer Trust - an amazing charity that provides specialist care and support to young people living with cancer.
To raise money for this charity, I will be running the Great North Run half marathon – a total of 13.1 miles (21.1km) on the 8th of September in Billy White’s memory.
We are still very close with Billy’s family and his brothers Leo and Sam always remind me of how great a person he was. Billy's whole family is an inspiration to me and to other families going through similar times. This run will be just as much for them as it is for Billy and the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Please give what you can for a life-changing cause.
Billy - We miss you and hope you are still at peace in Heaven and looking down at us with fondness. You will always be a big part of our lives and hearts, and we will never forget you.
Love Honesty x
