Story
InShaAllah (God Willing), our annual Great Harwood Community Iftar will take place on Saturday, 14th March, at 5:00 PM at Mercer Hall, Great Harwood.
This year, we will be raising money for the Burnley Antenatal Ward, supporting the vital care and services provided to mothers and babies in our community.
Our Iftar will be held in loving memory of Sumayyah Sareena Akhtar, the beloved daughter of Wasim Akhtar and cherished granddaughter of Akhtar Daad (Akky), who sadly passed away at just one day old on 20th January 2025.
Though her time with us was heartbreakingly short, Sumayyah’s memory has touched the hearts of many. It is only fitting that we honour her beautiful memory by supporting a cause that cares for mothers and newborns, offering comfort, compassion, and expert care to families during the most precious and delicate moments of life.
This event is an opportunity for us to come together once again — to break our fast, share food, and strengthen the bonds that make our community so special.
As always, there will be plenty of delicious food, refreshing drinks, and desserts for everyone to enjoy, along with a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all.
We look forward to seeing you there, InShaAllah, as we gather in remembrance, unity, and support for a meaningful cause close to our hearts.
