The Gurkha Welfare Trust is the leading Gurkha charity. We provide financial, medical and community aid to relieve poverty and distress among retired Gurkha soldiers, their families and their wider communities.

Story

On 27th June David, Nat, James, Tim and Russ will be setting off to cycle the Great North Trail. It’s a 1195km off-road route from the start of the Peak District to the top of Scotland.

Compared to the rides we did in 2019 and 2021 this is going to be extremely tough as we are attempting to do it in 8.25 days. That’s 90 miles or 140kms a day over rough ground.

The Gurkha Welfare Trust ensures that Gurkha veterans, their widows and their wider communities are able to live with dignity in Nepal, through the provision of financial, medical and community aid.
