On 31st May I will be running the Jungle Ultra in the Peruvian Rainforest, part of the Amazon Jungle. Over 5 days I will cover 230km, starting in the Andes cloudforest at 10,000ft altitude. I will descend through the cold & misty cloud forest to the Amazon basin, where i will then navigate the dense jungle & wade through croc infested rivers. As well as altitude, sweltering heat & 100% humidity, there are also the dangers of trecherous thorny vegetation, venomous snakes, spiders & scorpions, bullet ants & mosquitos. Evenings will be spent sleeping in a hammock, trying to avoid anything that bites & hiding my food from predators.
