Story
This summer, ASP's Greenbrier staff is working on a home that was devastatingly affected by an electrical fire last winter. The homeowners have been working day and night since then to start building their home back up and we are grateful that we were able to relieve some of this workload from them this summer. While we have already had the electrical redone throughout the entire home and completed various other repairs, the family still lacks a finished kitchen to cook for one another in. We would love it if we were able to get them a dishwasher, cabinets, and countertops so we can leave them with a space that feels complete and like home. These homeowners are the most giving people we have come across and have opened their home up to many despite their difficult last couple of months, and it would be our pleasure to continue giving back to them. ----------Make homes warmer, safer & drier. Transform lives.----------Since 1969, Appalachia Service Project (ASP) volunteers have been making homes warmer, safer, and drier for families in need in Central Appalachia and providing life transforming experiences for everyone involved. Each year, ASP typically hosts more than 15,000 volunteers working in 5 different Central Appalachian states, serving over 350 families with home repairs and new home construction.
