As many of you know, our school can become extremely warm during the summer heatwaves we've been experiencing in the last few years, making it difficult for children and staff to stay comfortable and productive in school.

The PTA has committed approximately £3,000 towards improving school temperatures by purchasing portable air conditioning units. We're now hoping to raise additional funds through this appeal to increase the overall budget available for this project.

This is a whole-school initiative, with the aim of benefiting pupils and staff across the school rather than any single year group or room.

As we are approaching the end of term, the units will be purchased after summer, to ensure we get the best value, and ready to use from Jan 2027.

Because the final amount raised will determine what can be purchased, we can't yet confirm exactly how many units will be bought or which models will be selected. The GSA will use the total funds available to purchase the most appropriate portable air conditioning units that provide the greatest benefit for the school and represent the best value for money.

If there is money 'leftover', this will be put into the GSA budget for other initiatives.

Every donation, no matter how small, will help us increase the impact and make our learning environments more comfortable during periods of hot weather.
