Story
Hello everyone!
We (Hannah, Em and Sarah) are taking on a massive challenge next year. We will be running the London Marathon 2025 to help raise essential money for Alzheimer’s Society!
Alzheimer’s Society is a charity very close to our hearts. Our Nannan had dementia for a number of years before she sadly passed away in 2017 and our Grandma also suffered with problems with her memory before she passed away earlier this year. We have witnessed first hand the challenges people with this cruel disease face and the heartbreak it causes for their family and friends. Dementia takes a loved one’s memories, independence and personality until they are unrecognisable as the person they once were.
During the next 10 months we will be doing lots of fundraising before taking on the marathon on 27th April 2025. We would appreciate any support/donations to help us raise our target of £6000. None of us are natural runners, so this will be a massive physical and mental challenge! However, it will be nothing in comparison to the daily struggles faced by those with dementia.
1 in 3 people born in the UK today will be diagnosed with dementia in their lifetime please help Alzheimer’s Society to create a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.
