Introducing the Adopt-a-Room Project!
For Greg and Tonjua it started at State in the 80s as individuals. However, the city fella from Detroit and this country girl from West Virginia found one another, creating a Yellow Jacket Union that has lasted 34 years. Each was able to discover themselves and find their voice, establishing a path forward through life in uncharted territories. WVSU sowed in them seeds of self-belief, self-confidence, community, unity, brotherhood, sisterhood, and a pride of our culture that still resonates loudly, remaining as foundational components in their lives today. Living on campus and experiencing the richness it offered left an indelible mark.
We are thrilled to announce that we are adopting a room in Dawson Hall (Greg's dorm). With a goal of $3,000 and your generous donations, we aim to replace decades-old furniture and create a vibrant, welcoming environment for our current residents. Your support will directly enhance the student experience, ensuring that each room is comfortable and inspiring for learning and building friendships among roommates.
How You Can Help:
• Make a donation to assist us in sponsoring a room. Fund will directly contribute to the cost of modern furnishings that will benefit students for years to come.
• Make a Difference: Every group or individual donation will assist Greg and Tonjua in transforming their designated room in Dawson Hall into a place where memories and lifelong friendships are made.
• $3000 to fully furnish this room for two students.
Your Impact: Imagine a new student walking into a freshly furnished room, excited to start their journey.
