In memory of Gregg Davison

The Christie charity provides enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds. Your support can help us to fund life-changing and potentially life-saving projects that will benefit cancer patients both now and in the future.

Story

Following the success of last year's Golf Day, we are organising a Golf Day to be held at Dunham Forest Golf Course on Thursday, 12 June, 2025 to raise money for The Christie in memory of Gregg.🤍

For anyone who can't make the Golf Day, but would like to make a donation to The Christie, in memory of Gregg, we would be grateful for any donations via this JustGiving page.

Gregg was diagnosed with a brain tumour in November 2015 after suffering seizures. He was referred to The Christie in Manchester for treatment. His type of brain tumour was unfortunately inoperable, so his only option was to have radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment. At that time, we were told without treatment he would survive around 12 months, but possibly a decade with successful treatment. He was 44 years old, and our son, Will, was just 8. Gregg took any treatment that his oncologist threw at him and initially treatment was quite successful, shrinking his tumour. However, brain tumour research is very underfunded and there unfortunately are not many treatments available. When Gregg's tumour started showing signs of growing again in 2021/2 we quickly ran out of treatment options and despite Gregg's Consultant trying everything he could, Gregg lost his battle on 4 June, 2023.

Gregg is sorely missed by his family, friends and colleagues. He will be remembered as a funny, energetic and clever bloke, a brilliant lawyer but above all an amazing husband and father. He dealt with his illness with a brave determination, a positive attitude and his trademark sense of humour.

I will be forever grateful to the Doctors and Nurses at the Christie, for the care and compassion they showed Gregg during his treatment and particularly when he had a lengthy stay in the hospital in February/March 2023. We hope that by raising some money, we can help The Christie care for more people who find themselves facing cancer, in particular brain cancer.
