Story
On October 3rd, Kate and I will be attempting to climb Mount Kilimanjaro – all 5,895 metres of it!
It’s a huge challenge for both of us. Kate will be putting a "new" body part through its paces, and for me, well… years after being smashed up in an avalanche (and told I’d never ski, run, or play sport again), it feels like a final run-out for a few tired body parts before I consider trading them in!
We’ve self-funded the trip (a birthday present, she said…), so every penny we raise will go directly to charity. We’ve chosen to support ADHD UK.
We believe kids with ADHD and other neurodiverse conditions are often misunderstood, especially in schools and sports, where their struggles are easily overlooked.
ADHD – particularly in men – is also linked to a much higher risk of suicide. With greater awareness, support, and access to simple medication, we believe this doesn’t have to be the case.
That’s why we’re doing this. Whether we make it to the top or not is another story – but we’re going to give it everything we’ve got.
We’d be hugely grateful for your support. No amount is too small, and it all helps. We can’t promise refunds if we don’t make it… but we can promise we’ll be thinking of every one of you who’s helped us raise funds for this very worthy cause. 💙
