Story

Thank you for visiting our Justgiving page. We have decided to raise money in memory to help more families get the specialist dementia support that they desperately need.

As many of you know, after our dad suffered a stroke in 2015, his cognitive abilities began to decline and he was later diagnosed with vascular dementia.

In the final years of his life, he was no longer able to do anything for himself, nor could he recognise us — his children, grandchildren, or even our mum. Throughout it all, our mum has been his rock. She cared for him tirelessly for over ten years, navigating an incredibly difficult and emotional journey

Dementia UK's Admiral Nurses work alongside people with dementia, and their families: giving them one-to-one support, expert guidance and practical solutions. The unique dementia expertise an Admiral Nurse brings is a lifeline. It helps families to live more positively with dementia in the present, and to face the challenges of tomorrow with more confidence and less fear.

We hope that by sharing our experience, we can help support others facing their own dementia journey. Please consider donating to Dementia UK in memory of our dad Gregory.

Thank you

Isabel and Vincent
