Nearly one in ten people in the world don’t have access to clean water close to home. The global water crisis stops people from having an equal chance to be healthy, educated, and financially secure. Since 1981, WaterAid has reached 28.5 million people with clean water and 29 million with decent toilets; and we're teaming-up to extend that outreach even further. Before World Water Day (22 March), we're walking a combined 1,520km (a distance that grows as each new team member joins) to raise $10,000; and we're looking for people like you to support our efforts.
1. DONATE. Can you pledge a dollar, dime, nickel, or penny for every kilometer we walk? Whether you can spare $5 or $500, your donation brings safe water to people who need it.
2. WALK. Set your own walking goal and invite sponsors to support you. Click the "Join Team" link below the photo on this page, personalize your own JustGiving page, and share it with your friends, family, and social media followers. Text Sheralee (403-715-7682) with questions.
3. CELEBRATE. Join us at Victoria Sports Park in Raymond, Alberta on World Water Day, Saturday, 22 March 2025, from 11AM to 1PM for a community walk for water. With music, food, and door prizes, we'll walk our final kilometers, collect our last donations, and celebrate the water access and consequent opportunities we're expanding.
WaterAid's Mission is to transform the lives of the poorest and most marginalized people by improving access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene. With all three people can unlock their potential, break free from poverty, and change their lives for good. Children grow up healthy and strong, women and men get to earn a living, whole communities start to thrive. It sounds normal, and it should be. Your support makes a lasting difference; together, we will change millions of lives for the better – and change normal.
