Gretta Campbell is raising money for Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund (SCIAF)

Team: St Mary's Griminish, Benbecula, Big Lent Walk and Swim for SCIAF

Compelled by Christ’s love, we help people in the world’s poorest places to lift themselves out of poverty, work together to protect our common home, and help people recover from disaster.

Story

Taking the Plunge for Ethiopia: The Culla Bay Cold Water Swim and walk/ run.

This Lent, Mercy, Sarah Jane, Marie, and Chris have decided to brave the bracing Atlantic waters at Culla Bay, Isle of Benbecula, to raise vital funds for water projects in Ethiopia. Marie, Mercy and Chris will also be walking/running 200km each during Lent. Sarah Jane will walk 3km each day. We will be joined for the walking by Seonag, Annabelle, Catriona, Calum, Gretta and others. Their challenge is to walk 120 miles during Lent (40 days)

Why we are swimming, running and walking:

In Ethiopia and across the globe, millions of people still lack access to safe, clean water. We are swimming in solidarity with our global sisters and brothers, braving the cold to highlight the daily hardships faced by those without this basic human right. We will swim at Cula Bay once per week throughout Lent (6 swims!).

The impact of your support:

By sponsoring our Atlantic dip and 200km run, you aren't just helping people survive; you are helping them thrive.
