DIP-A-DAY throughout December

Grimsby and Cleethorpes Water Rats Yearly Event

Its that time of year again for our amazing club members to take part in our yearly fundraising event, DIP-A-DAY throughout December.

We began this crazy event at 8am Monday 1st December with over 30 members taking part on this freezing cold morning. With gusting winds and bitter cold air temperatures to add to the drama of the day. The water temperature was a biting 6.5 degrees, a little chillier than the sea due to the fresh water coming through from the river freshney.

Everyday in December there will be members of the club taking a dip in the freezing cold waters of Alexandra dock situated near corporation bridge. This is a team effort with some members dipping everyday and others joining in when they can. Either by dipping in the dock or at home in cold water tubs, cold showers or out and about in rivers and lakes. Which ever method used to get cold and wet it all counts to help raise funds for our chosen charity.

Our chosen charity this year, voted on by our club members will be Immingham Dogs Home. A charity that provides shelter, Medical Care, Rehabilitation and Rehoming for up to 40 dogs at any one time. Providing a safe haven for dogs until a new home is found
