Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Dear Friends and Supporters,
On the morning of 26th August 2026, flash floods tore through Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts in Nepal's Bagmati province, close to the Nepal-Tibet border. Triggered by a glacial mudslide above the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers, the deluge swept through villages, hydropower stations, roads and bridges within minutes, leaving families no time to escape. As of today, over 160 people are confirmed dead and hundreds remain missing, including local residents, workers and tourists caught in the disaster's path. Entire settlements have been washed away, and thousands more have lost their homes, livelihoods and any sense of safety.
Many of us have family, friends or roots in these communities. For those of us who have built lives here in the UK, watching this unfold from a distance makes the need to act feel even more urgent.
GRNCA is coming together to raise emergency funds in support of the flood-affected families in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and surrounding areas. Every contribution, of any size, will go towards Government of Nepal Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund, and we trust our government to mobilise this funds where it is needed the most.
Nepal has faced disaster before, and each time it has been the strength of its people, and of communities like ours standing behind them, that has carried the recovery forward. We are asking you to stand with us again.
Please give what you can. If you are able to share this appeal with friends, family or colleagues, that reach may matter as much as the donation itself.
Thank you for your generosity and for standing with the people of Nepal during this devastating time.
With gratitude
