Emergency Appeal: Stand with Gaza Sunbirds in the Face of Starvation

The crisis in Gaza has reached an unthinkable level. Families are enduring catastrophic starvation. Children sleep hungry. Parents give up meals for days. Clean water is nearly impossible to find. Life under siege is defined by loss, but not by surrender.

In the heart of this crisis are the Gaza Sunbirds, a para-cycling team that has become something far more than athletes. In the face of genocide, they have transformed into a powerful grassroots aid network, providing life-saving support to their own communities.

Since the start of the latest genocide, the Gaza Sunbirds have:

- Delivered over $400,000 USD worth of humanitarian aid

- Managed a refugee camp for 27 displaced families

- Distributed emergency food parcels, clean water, and basic supplies

- Repaired mobility bikes so people with disabilities can move and adapt, even after losing homes or limbs

- Offered universal basic income to disabled Gazans

- Set up shelters, toilets, and children’s programs - including toys and emotional relief

- Continued to support their own para-athletes, many of whom are displaced and struggling, yet still determined to ride

- This work is not backed by large institutions - it’s powered by athletes, families, and neighbours refusing to give up on each other.
