Some people run for medals.

Some run for fitness.

I run because of a little boy called Eddie ❤️

This year I’m running the Cardiff Half Marathon again to raise money for Cerebral Palsy Cymru, a charity that has supported Eddie and our family in ways words will never fully explain.

Eddie has right sided hemiplegia, a form of cerebral palsy, and like many families who walk this path, we’ve had moments of fear, uncertainty, exhaustion and heartbreak. The appointments. The worries about the future. The questions you can’t answer. The silent battles parents carry when the world goes quiet at night.

But alongside those moments has been support. Real support.

The kind that reminds you you’re not alone.

Cerebral Palsy Cymru have helped Eddie build confidence, strength and independence. They’ve helped us as parents understand more, cope better and believe bigger. They don’t just support children. They support entire families.

And Eddie?

He inspires me every single day.

He gets on with life with a smile, determination and courage most adults would struggle to find. Watching him overcome challenges without complaint changes your perspective on absolutely everything.

So when my legs hurt during training, when I’m tired, when I want to stop, I think about him.

Because this run is bigger than 13.1 miles.

It’s for awareness.

It’s for support.

It’s for families who need hope.

And it’s for one incredible little boy who probably doesn’t even realise how many people he inspires just by being himself.
