Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We are excited to announce the 7th Siemens Energy Challenge—a high energy weekend packed with outdoor adventures designed to challenge participants both physically and mentally. On 24–26 July 2026, we will come together in the breath taking setting of Keswick, in the heart of the Lake District.

This year, ten teams from Siemens Energy and our fantastic customers will go head to head in a series of scored stages. To keep the suspense high, the full programme will remain secret—but competitors can expect a mix of exhilarating challenges, potentially including water-based activities, high wire elements, cookery tasks, and orienteering.

The winning team will proudly lift the Siemens Energy Challenge Trophy, along with earning the admiration and recognition of their peers.

We are also proud to share that Sarah’s Star has been selected as our charity of choice for this year’s event. Every penny raised through the challenge, together with matched funding from Siemens Energy, will go directly towards supporting this remarkable organisation and the vital work they do.

Sarah’s Star was founded by Sarah Harrison, a former Siemens Protection Devices employee from Hebburn, who tragically died in December 2025 following an incurable breast cancer diagnosis. Inspired by Sarah’s deep belief in kindness, openness, and the power of community, Sarah’s Star exists to ensure no one faces serious illness, grief, or caring alone.

Based in North East, at the Linskill Centre in North Shields, Sarah’s Star offers a warm, welcoming, non clinical space for people affected by incurable or life limiting illness, bereavement, or caring responsibilities. Through compassionate emotional support, peer groups, gentle holistic therapies, wellbeing activities, and open conversations around death and dying, Sarah’s Star helps people feel seen, supported, and connected, not just to cope, but to live meaningfully.

We kindly ask for your support in reaching our fundraising target of £5,000. Any amount you can donate will be immensely appreciated by both us and Sarah’s Star. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast, and completely secure; your details are safe with them as they never sell information or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, your money goes directly to Sarah’s Star —making it the most efficient way to contribute while saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thanks to your generosity, this vital work can continue, creating a place of warmth, dignity, and human connection, where people are supported not merely to survive, but to live meaningful lives.

Your support helps Sarah’s Star to support others when they need it most.
