Event information:
The SewBrum Meet-Up 2025 – Hosted by Guthrie & Ghani
SewBrum is an annual, free-to-attend meet-up for sewing enthusiasts and is open to everyone.
This year, Guthrie & Ghani are thrilled to be hosting the meet-up in the vibrant village of Moseley, Birmingham! Whether you're a seasoned sewist, just beginning your sewing journey, or looking for a fun creative day, SewBrum celebrates the sewing community, creativity, and inspiration we all share.
Throughout the event we are raising funds for Anawim, a Birmingham charity supporting women. Anawim offer gender-informed and trauma-responsive wraparound support to enable women to reach their potential. Examples of support Anawim help with are domestic and financial abuse, women across the criminal justice system, women with mental health issues, women affected by sexual trauma, abuse or exploitation and support around relationships, families and parenting.
Examples of how your donations could help are:
£5 could cover the cost of travel to the centre, or a shower and a foodbank parcel.
£20 could help provide one hour of counselling or one hour of enrichment activity in prison.
£50 could cover 90 minutes of support for a woman facing crisis, such as homelessness, fleeing domestic violence or living in poverty, through our Drop-in service.
£100 could provide six weeks of caseworker support for a woman experiencing domestic or sexual abuse, enabling her to seek practical advice, address past traumas and develop confidence.
