Story
On 28th December 2023, my incredible mother Marilyn sadly lost her battle with cancer. She had been fighting this horrible disease for a while but like many, it finally got to her. In her final days and hours she was cared for by some of the most selfless and generous human beings at the Marie Curie Cardiff and the Vale Hospice who did everything to make sure that she, and all of us were looked after in our time of need.
Such an event makes one reflect on whether they do enough to support such vital charities that provide such critical support and care to so many vulnerable people and the answer in my personal circumstance was a very clear NO.
I have therefore set myself the challenge of running 5km a day for 365 days to raise some much needed funds to hopefully support other families that require this critical service at their time of need.
I completed my first run today and will be donating £10 for each day (in advance), with a further £50 for every day that I do not complete the run.
I would appreciate any support towards my target of £20,000 and of course would welcome anyone who wants to join my on my daily run!
Marie Curie is a charity working across the UK and they need your support to do our vital work.
