Every year our Accenture Health & Public Services team undertakes a endurance charity challenge which is called 'Who Dares Wins'. This tag line was chosen in memory of a colleague and friend Steve Maben who was ex-special forces and sadly passed away in 2021. Steve was a ball of energy, enthusiasm and adventure and it's in his honor that we go again this year with Who Dares Win 2024 set against the stunning scenery of Penrith in the Lake District. The team will be hiking/running, orientering, problem solving, team building around the Newlands Valley / Catbells on 16th-17th May while raising lots of money for an amazing cause.
Each year we nominate a charity that is close to the heart of our team and this year is very special, as we've selected an organisation that have provided incredible support to one of my team and her family. We are raising much needed funds for Unique (rarechromo.org), a charity dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by rare chromosome and gene disorders.
"Unique holds a special place for us since my son Joshua's diagnosis. They've been a beacon of support for our family and over 30,000 others," -- Shared a colleague, underlining the profound impact of Unique's work.
