Gwinyai's fundraiser for Mental Health Foundation

Royal Parks Half Marathon 2024 · 13 October 2024 ·
Hello!
In 2024, I committed to running six half marathons, not just as a personal challenge, but as a testament to the power of running in the fight for better mental health. Each step I take is a reminder that exercise can be a lifeline for those battling the weight of mental illness. Research shows that physical activity can alleviate symptoms of anxiety, depression, and stress. For me, running has been an anchor — a way to stay grounded, clear my mind, and feel stronger, mentally and physically however much I complain about having to out and actually do it!
But this journey isn’t just about me — it’s about advocating for all those who struggle with their mental health, and raising awareness of the incredible work that the Mental Health Foundation does every single day. Their mission is to provide support, education, and resources to people when they need it most.
With your help, we can show that exercise and mental health are deeply connected, and that taking care of our minds is just as important as taking care of our bodies.
Thanks to you all for every word of encouragement, every text message, phone-call and donation made this year. It has and will keep me going.
