Paula, Lauren and Erin’s Skydive for TYAC (Teenagers and Young Adults with Cancer)

Skydive · 30 September 2023
For those of you who don’t know me, I am Paula and I have recently been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. I have wanted to do a skydive for as long as I can remember and now is the time to tick it off my bucket list.
On the 30th September 2023, myself and two of my daughters, Lauren and Erin, will be taking the plunge (literally), whilst also taking this opportunity to raise money for an amazing cause, TYAC (Teenage and Young Adults with Cancer) at The Royal Surrey Hospital.
TYAC’s mission is to ensure that every young person with cancer receives high quality, age-appropriate care in a friendly setting.
As a family we hold this sector at the hospital very close to our heart. TYAC are still in touch with my other daughter, Hannah. James, Hannah’s boyfriend, was under their care and sadly passed away four years ago on 30th September 2019 after a long and brave fight against cancer. TYAC supported James, his family and Hannah throughout his illness and still do today. TYAC also arranged some amazing trips for James, including one to New York, continuing to do so for many other young people.
In case any of you wonder why Hannah and Pete aren’t jumping, they are not as brave as James…
